St. Gregory’s Got Talent

On February 6, HSA is hosting St. Gregory’s Got Talent Show. Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th are invited to participate. All acts must be approved prior to the show. Acts must be school appropriate and match the approved submission. Acts that are not in line with our mission or beliefs will not be approved. Monday is the final deadline for acts to be submitted. Kids Heart Challenge

This week a representative from the American Heart Association kicked off our Kids Heart Challenge. The goal is to create a community of lifesavers at SGS. Information to sign up was communicated last week from Mrs. Ferrara. Thank you for your support in helping us achieve this incredible goal!I am excited to help create a community of lifesavers at our school and am asking you to join me by signing up for our Kids Heart Challenge! Sign up under our school today - KHC at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. Receive a wristband just for joining the team!
This year, we have an important goal: 100% of our families learning the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR! It only takes a few minutes to learn, and it can make all the difference in an emergency.
- Sign up here or download the free “AHA Schools” app for iPhone or Android.
- Raise funds to help kids with special hearts.
- Complete Finn’s Mission: Complete all 7 steps, learn Hands-Only CPR, and be entered to win two Super Bowl tickets!
Students who raise$150 before kickoff on 1/14 will earn special edition Victor keychain!
Students who raise $150 join the SURPRISE challenge with Coach! And students who raise $200 will get to silly string Mrs. Young!
If 50% of our families sign up, our school will earn a $500 gift certificate for physical activity and recess equipment to support the health of our school community.

Step Up

StepUp for Students has now opened their portal for new applications for students entering K-12th grade. We want to encourage our families to apply as all Florida residents are eligible for StepUp Scholarships, regardless of their income. Step up applications will open February 1.

Known for his virtuosic technique and colorful presentation, organist ALEXANDER STRAUS-FAUSTO gives exhilarating, sensitive, and innovative performances of repertoire ranging from early fifteenth century keyboard music to contemporary organ music. His repertoire also includes the complete works of César Franck, Maurice Durufé, and Johannes Brahms. He has been recognized as a member of The Diapason’s “20 Under 30 Class of 2023”, a program that recognizes artists under the age of thirty who have made significant contributions to the field of Organ Performance, as well as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30”, 2025 edition.

Gala proceeds will fund a new gym floor and important stage upgrades, benefiting our students and the many athletic events, performances, and inter-school competitions hosted at St. Gregory. We are one of the few Catholic schools in the area with an indoor gym.

Lunchroom Duty

Thank you for your continued support of our faculty and staff! From January through May, each grade from 1st through 8th has been assigned a month to assist with Lunchroom Duty. Your time allows our teachers to take a much‑needed break and enjoy their lunch. Please use the link, Track it Forward, to sign up. You have the opportunity to volunteer for a shift, either 10:15-11:45 am or 11:45am-1:15pm. Lunch volunteer hours will be doubled. Please see the attached schedule to see when your grade has been assigned. Thank you!
